Not necessarily. This really depends on the age and condition of your equipment. Older systems use older refrigerants and can have different size equipment. Due to compatibility with these components, you may need to change both. We generally recommend replacing it together to save money if the equipment is older, but our technicians can help you decide what makes the most sense for your home.

We find that often times, a home’s existing heating and cooling system is the right size. How we make sure we get it right is by performing ACCA approved heat load calculations. If you have other estimates, ask the contractor what the load calculation says the home calls for. Our guarantees protect you from needing to worry about this but it is part of our process to ensure quality installations.
